For what it's worth, this is on page 6 for all-time HN everything, so congrats, Walz. Also, I'm curious how this would be different in other cities. What are the most commonly played songs? How does this differ from the typical li

I think what they meant was that if there are eligibility requirements and such, paperwork is required and some parents won't do it. So no questions asked solves that problem. That's how I parsed it, at least.

Um...poorly. Mostly the default folders, and then I search and/or remember it. It helps I don't have a profusion of files, though not for lack of effort. Many of the things have descriptive titles, though some don't (ok, a lo

It seems like a lot of these government-owned space things last a lot longer than they're made for. There's Landsat, Spirit, Opportunity, Hubble, the Voyagers, et cetera. It seems to be a pretty steep curve - either they fail on

I did not expect fugues and refugees to be etymologically related. You learn something new every day, I guess. Even if it's something you'd prefer you didn't know, like that apparently six-month-old eggs don't smell weir

I'm not. Or if I am, I'm in for a surprise. I don't think I'm magnetic, at least. So there's at least one person on HN who is not a bot, to their knowledge. Unfortunately I have no proof that wouldn't involve

I believe so you can see, if you wish, how established someone is. And to provide a moderate degree of confidence that other people, at least, generally find their claims accurate (if there is a strange, hard-to-Google, claim they make).

It's not social media, but Google hid Proton Mail, a prominent 'competitor', from search results for secure/encrypted email for a while: https://proton.me/blog/search-risk-google .

I would be no more or less likely to go. If they are functionally the same as people there is no way for me to tell if right now that's what's happening, therefore it would not consciously impact my thinking.

Something that isn't discussed enough is that nuclear power is extremely safe. According to Our World In Data ( https://ourworldindata.org/safest-sources-of-energy ), it produces the fewest emissions per gigawatt -- sola

I'm also fairly new and would like to second this. HN is really interesting. Or, rather, it does a good job both making it harder to find the less interesting stuff and making it easy to guess if you'll be interested in it.
