This was my first “introduction” to Kafka (and rock opera, for that matter) in the late-90s IIRC. It definitely encouraged me to buy an anthology of his short stories.

Using `set -u` is more portable. If your shebang is `/usr/bin/env bash`, which it probably should be, then you can't add additional command line arguments in Linux with older coreutils. macOS supports additional argument

Definitely not. With all the trust and good faith in the world, humans are still fallible. "High velocity" isn't helpful if you've lost control.

I suspect it's the earliest date from when they have more granular data. The zigzag was still there pre-1958, but it was never recorded, so the smooth line is the best you're going to get.

Maybe this tool already exists, but it occurs to me that architecture diagrams could be generated from, say, Terraform HCL files. They mightn't be perfect, but if it gets you 80% of the way there -- for final touch-ups with some vector

I've worked for a company in the UK which had a "staff association", which was orthogonal to any part of the business (i.e., no conflicting interests) and as such operated as a de facto union -- in the employee assistance and

This is something we've discussed[1] in the development of Topiary, deferring the process to the formatter. It's not a priority issue for us right now, but given the lack of universal editor support for elastic tab stops, having t

There are, of course, alternative metrics for "quality". Furniture with non-visible components made of plywood is more ecologically sustainable, for example (lighter and cheaper, too); one could even push this to using veneer ever

IIRC, there's some political science theory that says that certain electoral systems -- I don't know if the US counts -- tend towards a two-party steady state.

To be cynical, I guess we're at the "embrace and extend" part; "extinguish" hasn't happened yet, but it could. Microsoft controls the LSP and VS Code is very popular; thus Microsoft has all the leverage in the

Topiary contributor, here: In theory, I think a simple semantic white space language could work, provided the Tree-Sitter grammar for that language is adequate. Python, for example, might be possible; as long as we ignore things like line
