I think you're getting close to the point but somewhat fail to nail it. The thing is that most people can't actually do anything if not forced to do it. They can't make anything on their own. They have barely enough will to put themselves i

There is no male/female imbalance in countries where the birth rate went below the replacement level naturally. That's a major problem that China will have to face, and not the other countries mentioned.

That's actually exactly what I don't want to have to deal with: bogus/expired/cancelled/etc. credit cards. Hence I'm looking for some kind of middle man. But that's actually a solution I'm looking at: prepaid usage-based.

Documentation is one of the main reasons we are using Django at my startup now : the documentation is absolutely awesome. On the other hand I remember doing lots of Erlang/OTP two years ago (failed startup that never launched...). Equipped

France Telecom has 187,331 employees (wikipedia). It might be "a single company", but it's 9 times bigger than Google... Even if you restrict it to France (where I think these suicides occured), that's still roughly 100,000 employees, so 5

Lot's of people here are suggesting git. I admit that I never tried it and personally use mercurial hg. I definitely recommend learning version control as soon as possible. It's a life saver, and it's incredibly easy. With mercurial you're

You're right, it will grow the codebase more than making the code verbose. And the code will probably be more readable. But have you actually used this in practice ? Is it tractable ? I'm actually thinking of trying this on (a rather old ve
