It's hard to draw any conclusion from personal anecdote: where I work it's the opposite, all my coworkers who had Android smartphones (Samsung and Sony) are switching to iPhone 5S. Note that none of them is technically savy at all

That's just convenience. Do you really think many people will keep forking $X00 for PCs just for a little bit of convenience needed only once in a while? I respectfully disagree. A couple of anecdotes, for lack of evidence: My grandfat

When you hear that an entrepreneur should not be afraid of failure, I think you are misunderstanding it. It doesn't mean that failure is unlikely, it means that failure is not a big deal. Corollary: whatever bold move you want to try,

Replace 90% by 100%. The use case of the PC at home is disappearing fast. What can you do on a PC that you cannot do on a tablet? If you really think about it, not much at all. On the iPad Apple's creativity apps [1] go a long way: the

There is nothing particularly brave about cannibalizing a rather cheap product (iPod) with an insanely more expensive one (iPhone), that also turns out to become obsolete much more quickly. I should know: I bought one iPod Nano and my siste

I'm pretty much doing the exact same thing, but with django instead of rails. That gives a very nice Postgres + Django + AngularJS. When I need to add realtime feeds I throw RabbitMQ with the Web-Stomp Plugin into the mix: it works ama

You are right that Airbus had a hard time figuring out which plane to make, rushing a couple of A350 concepts before settling on the so called A350-XWB. But once it was settled the engineering went smoothly. Or, should I say, has been going

I wonder if Boeing and Airbus will increase the pace of new plane releases... The A380 and B787 introductions were very rocky, with delays added to delays added to delays. On the other hand so far the testing of the A350 as been incredibly
