My nontechnical wife isn't going to care it's a single binary when I remove the PiHole web interface that she's used to using on the odd occasion she needs to disable blocked for a bit (for example).

Exactly the same here. I've considered switching from Android multiple times and the two things that always stop me are notifications and the keyboard. No long-press punctuation, no switch. I also can't trust Apple to let 3rd part

I struggled with a similar problem recently. You can use osslsigncode to sign Windows binaries from Linux. It is also possible, with some pissing about, to get everything to work hands off. In the end we went with Digicert Keylocker to hand

You cannot see replies to the linked tweet without an account. The Twitter OP cannot put links into his main tweet because the algorithm will downrank him. Isn't it just great?

I've used a local server and just DLNA for over a decade and that's been fine on almost every device I've used it on. There's also Jellyfin if you're really into the whole Plex thing.

Funnily enough I set up a self-hosted RSS reader last night and TTRSS was one of the options I considered, having used it years ago. Feel like I dodged a bullet picking an alternative! (Settled on Miniflux)
