I think there is more to it than that. I am a high quality/craftsmanship person. I like coding and puzzling. I am highly skilled in functional leaning object oriented deconstruction and systems design. I'm also pretty risk averse.

I really should spend some time analyzing what I do to get the good output I get.. One thing that is fairly low effort that you could try is find code you really like and ask the model to list the adjectives and attributes that that code ex

I was totally aligned until I saw the refusal for a comment in the code. When the refusals are pedantic like that, it just weakens the overall findings significantly.

Actually I would have agreed with you 2 years ago. But now working with AI so much, maybe RSS "is" just the thing we need for some of the distrobution.

I guess, how often do you pay someone to fix your car? Repair something in your house? Give you financial advice? Those are all things many people outsource their thinking to other people with.

I mean it can also depend on scale. I use hundreds of sub-agent instances to do analysis that I just would not be able to do in a reasonable timeframe. That is a TON of thinking done for me.

At some point you just have to stop responding to these "stochastic parrot/auto-complete" people. It isn't worth your intellectual bandwidth. They will eventually understand or they won't (Which I'm not sure ho

I would actually like to see the real math currently. The market adoption has increased a lot. The cost to serve has come down a lot per token. Model sizes have not increased exponentially recently (The high point being the aborted GPT-4.5)

Which is the right answer.. you just go get a spark plug and a spark socket (with handle) and put the new one in. I feel like maybe you haven't put a sparkplug in before...

I keep seeing the "Productivity Paradox" highlighted over an over again. I think one thing people are missing with this specific technology is that unlike many of the comparisons (computers, internet, broadband, etc), AI in partic

I find this such a weird stance to take. Every system I work on and bug I fix has broad sets of code that I didn't write in it. Often I didn't write any of the code I am debugging. You have to be able to build a mental map as you

I love the fact that we just got a model really capable of doing sustained coding (let me check my notes here...) 3 months ago, with a significant bump 15 days ago. And now the comments are "If it is so great why isn't everything

Shaming, ridiculing. People that dare to create something you don't like. Maybe the right answer is if you don't like what people are sharing that they made.. YOU make something and share it and lead by example instead of complain

That is why I said "risk". Though the models are pretty good "if" you ask for security audits. Notice I didn't say you could do it without technical knowledge right now, so you need to know to ask for security revie

If you know good architecture and you are testing as you go, I would say, it is probably pretty damn close to being able to build a company without looking at the code. Not without "risk" but definitely doable and plausible. My cu

This kind of reductionist pithy comparison needs to stay on Reddit. Sure stuff is messed up here, but there are very real differences in both the degree and breadth of government abuse of power when you compare with China.

I mean you don't have to. With 0 temp, the only source of non-determinism is really the associative math chaning on accumulation of the floating point multiplication. That could be eleminated if we wanted to buy restricting the orderin

Can you predict when solar radiation hits a memory cell or when given server node will die? Not really but you can model the probability of it happening. My point was all the systems we work with have failure modes and non-determinate outpu

As someone that agenticly codes A LOT. Detailed specs are not required, but certainly one way to use the systems. If you are going to do a big build out of something, spec up front at least to have a clear idea of the application architectu

I think what I'm talking about is kind of orthogonal to model alignment. It is more about how much do you tune the model to listen to user messages, vs holding behavior and truth (whatever the aligned "truth" is). Do you trus
