With taskwarrior, could you not implement your 'rituals' as recurring tasks, then just activate/deactive them as the "seasons of life" change. No mention of the web UIs or mobile apps built for taskwarrior either, k

Does taskwarrior meet your needs? It has a mobile app, cli interface, and web UI. Tasks are organized by hierarchal "project"(like "home", "home.wardrobe") and have 20 standard attributes that can be given(time

I don't think modern movies are stuck in a "low risk reboot loop" because of the cost to produce, it's because of the potential profit. Why spend money on a film with new IP and ideas that you're not sure will be po

The leap from "generating a frame" to "generating a video" is not as big as the leap from where we are now to a 'perfect' image synthesis engine(which would be required to get rid of artifacts). The much more l

Why can't those same processes be used for open source code then? If we assume those processes can't(or don't) apply to open source software then am I to believe that OpenSSL has been running the internet without any scrutiny

If it were truly about software security it wouldn't be limited to open source. Whatever standards make a piece of software secure doesn't change when it's developed by a company or a community, so what's the reason they

Except they're not. Content aware fill uses only your image as the input and runs space-time video completion. Since it doesn't have to train on datasets, it's not part of the conversation.

The difference seems like semantics. You're taking compyrighted data, encoding it, then deriving a work from the output of that encoded data. If I compress copyrighted works and redistribute them as my own I'm technically breaking

Is the copyright still not applicable if your encoding table has rules to reconstruct text from? No serious person would argue that copyright doesn't extend to the encoded version of the book and prevent me from profiting off it. I bel

I believe e2ee should be the default when I consent to share private information with someone through an intermediary. The libraries are already on every device with a web browser and the overhead is minimal, so IMO there's no excuse o

Not even just after a certain size, the current trend in society is to quantify everything so that it can be optimized. There's many companies(like kausa.ai) which focus on quantifying, measuring, and optimizing every facet of your bus

This is my issue with authy(the 2fa provider that twitch and others use). TOTP needs 2 things to function, a shared secret and a synced clock. No phone number. No email. No account. No personal information. All you need is a secure connecti
