Or you could just, use a secure anonymous coin like say monero and forget all this time consuming effort to try and anonymous a non anonymous coin.

Yeah that phone is so NOT secure. Like horribly not secure. I blame google/android. See: https://charlescarrollsociety.com/2016/01/22/silentcircle-bl... Things have not gotten better. So no, there are no

Bitcoin is just a perfect example of the greater foo theory in action. Someone’s going to be left holding the bag.

Reading most of the replies here reminds me the gun debate. It’s one side that has experience with said subject and the other side that has zero. And they argue. Some posters don’t believe there is any difference between eggs from a small f

I don’t know why oracle would want it. Since buying sun the share and recognition of sun hardware is even less than the lowest point since sun owned sun. I haven’t seen a sun box in over a decade. Except eBay. I guess oracle has the cash t

Because almost every thing that Linux implements is poorly done. Let’s take the subject at hand. Containers. They never created containers. Instead they came up with docker. And never designed it to be secure. Hence all these efforts to fig

Meh I don’t consider it bad. It’s in FreeBSD. You want it? Run FreeBSD. Waiting for Linux to implement their “version” of capsicum, poorly, Might be a while. Plus you have other great tech like CloudABI in FreeBSD as well which makes it eve

You also have access to BHyve on FreeBSD for a good hypervisor.

The stories I’m sure some of us could tell. Between Draper, the raves, all of the Cons (pumpcon, summercon, defcon in the early 90s). I’m sure some folks could go to jail and not for wire fraud or computer crime either. But as you noted, th

It makes sense to this degree only, if you DONT use ECC no matter where you are using ZFS you are introducing potential checksum errors in the data path. ECC is not that much more than normal ram. To me it makes no sense to run ZFS even if

No idea about MySQL. I use postgresql exclusively. And it screams pretty good on ZFS. You can set the record size. The sector size. If you’re insane you can mess with fsync. You can tune ZFS so easily to handle the workload you have.

That's not a problem. You are not entitled to the work of others. And the original bsdl code is just as available to you as it was to them for you to improve upon in a similar way.

This thread and the culture of those replying to it fascinate me. Do you really enjoy spending this much time debating licenses, clauses, and legal matters? I personally, just have to many more important things to do than worry about and wa

I think actually you can. If you rewrite 75%? 80%? You can relicense it. Legally I think the law views that as new code not a modification. A lawyer may need to correct me but I seem to recall something like this.

That's what I find most impressive. The insane amount of bits they do from a single FreeBSD box. And I concur as well on the BSD crew responsible for engineering it. The grey beards are getting harder to find as they retire and I weep
