Don't you think China had some help getting to where they are today? Western governments and corporations have systematically moved all technological and manufacturing power to China for the past 60 years. How can the U.S. population p

For anyone thinking about jumping to KeePass - consider the fact that they're still hosted at SourceForge. That's a major red flag for me and I've been keeping my eye out for an alternative for a while now.

Thanks! I have tried Bitvise a few times over the years, but it seems to be missing some features of WinSCP such as "Keep remote directory up to date..." which I use a lot. The terminal immediately seems nicer to use than Putty, b

Microsoft is as hip and alive as Google is. Google is a boring info-utility to most people. The Xbox is absolutely more cool than anything Google has in their pocket, including Android and self driving car experiments.

Do you use any Apple products whatsoever? I hope not, because Apple sues over patents too. If you really care, please stop using any company's products that do this.

If I hear them talking about USB-C is it going to magically cause 99% of regular USB devices to disappear in three months? No. I'm sure Surface 5 devices will have USB-C in 12-16 months when people actually start caring about USB-C.

Because no devices require USB-C yet? Regular USB stuff isn't going to just disappear, so it's really not that big a deal. It's like not having a bluray drive or a 3d-tv screen - nobody cares.

So you'll get it next year then. I don't get why you have to be a prick about it though by saying that Apple or Google are somehow "more progressive" and then turn around and call someone else's response irrelevant

I'm running Windows 10 with multiple Linux server distros in the background. Hyper-V shuts them down and brings them up with Windows. WinSCP is my file manager and Putty is my terminal. I prefer this over OS X on Apple hardware because

Microsoft doesn't need an cult of personality or any of the shallow smoke and mirrors sales tactics that Apple utilizes. They made it to greatness without that bullshit.

If you're OK with Apple taking away root privileges on your box, then I guess a lot of things that are fine with you are not going to be fine with other people. Enjoy using Apple's computers...and they are Apple's, not yours

Unless you're making iOS software, why not just use Linux? I always have Ubuntu Server running in the background in a VM, so I get the desktop experience that I prefer (Windows) and a better Unix experience than OS X provides.

OS X is the completely inflexible OS here, as usual - not Windows. This setting is built into Windows [1] and if you don't like the way it works, you can also do it with a few lines of AutoHotKey code. [1] - http://winaero.c

Yeah, they did reverse it because now you can own the product after paying for a year's worth of rent. That's completely different from only being able to rent the product. But either way, there's still nothing praise-worthy

I think the person you responded to was hating on Apple for stuff they actually do, like limiting your choice to one crappy browser. And %38% of the market is enough to force any any app maker to deal with Apple, so it might as well be 51%.

You don't understand the logic that - as the default desktop shipped by Fedora, the Gnome desktop version has things that the others don't? I've been using Linux since the 90's. Generally, if you don't go with the d
