The obvious retort to this is: "If I focused on my health, ate clean and exercised daily, why should I also be subsidizing Billy "video-games-are-my-exercise" fatass's chronic health conditions?" This is why there i

Sythentic data is already being embraced. Turns out you actually can create good training data with these models.

Internally everyone is compute constrained. No one will convince me that the models getting dumb, or especially them getting lazy, isn't because the servers are currently being inundated. However right now it looks like we will move to

Remember when "Googling" was a skill? LLMs are definitely in the same boat. It's even more specific where different models have different quirks so the more time you spend with one, the better the results you get from that on

The impossibly large cost is the difference between hardware and software returns. Hardware by nature forces redesigns whereas software it's always possible to just keep building on top of old bad designs, and so much cheaper and faste

The problem doctors have is that 99/100 times ABC is caused by xyz, so they prescribe 123 and the problem goes away. Overtime, as a human, the doctors just turn into ABC -> 123 machines.

I often put the models in direct conversation with each other to work out a framework or solution. It works pretty well, but they do tend to glaze each other a bit.

I'm almost positive that using gemini on ai studio is the cause for a lot of strife. Most users on it are using it free, and they almost certainly give free users bottom priority/worst compute allocation.

People get used to a model and then work best with that model. If you hand an iPhone user an Android phone, they will complain that Android is awful and useless. The same is true vice versa. This is in large part why we get so many conflict

If you don't want crappy e-mail service, you need to pay monthly for it. If you are not paying for it, you are not the customer. I'm just so tired of people endlessly complaining about things they have never paid for. Let the ad-m

Well that's going to do nothing. But at least people eating the chaff of property owners will celebrate it, I guess.

Just to reinforce this, the last place I lived in was owned by a corporation...of one man, who lived a town away in a modest house and worked as a paper pusher by day.

It's even better than that, pay less and support global trade . Just make sure you have a degree and a service sector white collar job though.

Again, open models exist. These companies don't have a monopoly on the tech and they know it. So maybe celebrate open/private/local models for empowering people rather than selfishly complain about it?

Open/local models are available. Maybe not as good, but they can certainly do far far more than what was available a few years ago.

Democratizing coding so regular people can get the most out of computers is the opposite of oppression. You are mistaking your interests for societies interests. It's the same with artists who are now pissed that regular people can man

It's totally viable and trivially possible to just payout earned interest to these accounts. You can still issue giftcards, it's just no longer passively profitable to do so.

The assholes on reddit aren't the problem, often they are the people who are closest to breaking free from the swamp (yes, some are just assholes). The problem reddit has is the celebration of it's doomerism, even in the small h

The biggest issue is that people think EV's are gas cars that have electricity instead of gasoline, with the main difference being you have to sit at the "gas pump" for 45 minutes instead of 2. But the way you daily an EV is
