The most obvious one I miss (I don't currently only use server-side analytics) is something like screen size. You can do user-agent sniffing to _guess_ what the size of a mobile device is, but it doesn't tell you whether or not yo

Zstandard is awesome! Earlier last year I was doing some research that involved repeatedly grepping through over a terabyte of data, most of which were tiny text files that I had to un-zip/7zip/rar/tar and it was painful (may

I've used GoAccess in the past, but didn't find it a good fit esp. since I prefer JSON logs. I don't know if it supports this - maybe I didn't read enough docs - but at the time, I remember it was easier to spend an hour

I'll push it to https://github.com/oyato/promqueen when it's ready. Hopefully I will have time to work on it over the next week or two.

We love JSON logs and previously just sent most of it to systemd's journald and use a custom tool to view them. But maybe a year ago Grafana released https://github.com/grafana/loki and we've been using it on

Too many to reply to directly, but thanks for all the links and advice. I will try to contact the maintainer via email and see what happens. A little more context: This project is a library that can appear in internet-facing servers and whe

Security vulnerability or not, it's still a DOS. Imagine having just a few requests (like less than 10) to your site consume 100% CPU until the server process is killed or restarted.

Thanks for the links. That Github Security Lab looks particularly interesting.

Like another comenter, I'd say mine was "not starting". More specifically writing. I often get ideas about articles I'd like to write but I just end up talking myself out of it. This past Sunday morning - like countless

I too recommend prerendering as a general solution to the problem. You already have to implement it such that it works in the browser, so why add complexity with SSR, switching frameworks or worse: adding another framework/language&#x2

I use a DIY DNS server as opposed to Pi-hole specifically, but I found that doing that broken sites at the most awkward times. Imagine doing something on a site and then suddenly the it breaks... you realize why and maybe unblock something

I've gone down this road and think for most users prerendering is a better approach. Switching to a static site framework or SSR usually means throwing away your existing processes only to be tied into a limited framework that most lik
