Would it be ridiculous to write a Flash game then package it with Electron bundled with a Flash Player? I feel like the issues most people have with Flash are one of two things. It isn't a great choice for rich interfaces (especially t

Crystal is wonderful for one-off programs in my experience. Elixir had a long startup time for one-off scripts in my experience, but Elixir’s syntax is still one of my favorites for scripting.

Crystal is definitely type safe, I’d recommend taking a look at the Lucky web framework also written in Crystal.

Glitch is pretty neat: it’s sits somewhere in between something like Codepen and something like Github, with some nifty VCS features that new programmers don’t have to think about.

It almost looks like there's a port in the top that expansions attach to. However, in the specifications, there is no expansion port listed. This makes me think that stacking is simply stacking, then we use a usb cable to attach the pi

For most businesses, probably not. I have a few friends that have Etsy shops as hobbies. They don't consistently make enough money from it to justify paying for a Shopify, etc site. So I figured I'd see if I could manage to get th

You can purchase a modem as a separate device that you could then use with any router. It could save you some money depending on whether or not your ISP charges you for renting their hardware.

There are ways to actually run your application for free using the big players' free services. One route I've looked at for e-commerce is storing product data on Stripe, hosting product pages with Netlify, pulling product data d

Privacy.com is a really neat service. I'm pretty disappointed that all banks don't already have this feature built in (I know some do).

I think it would be easy enough for the go compiler to support macros, while keeping them disabled by default. There could be a cli flag for go build that enables macros. It would be easy to have a company-wide rule to keep macros disabled.

A lot of people that love Ruby and dislike Crystal seem to dislike Crystal for reasons like what you mentioned. I'm pretty sure that you can get a sorted list of methods in Crystal (not with the same syntax unfortunately) at compile ti

If larger companies (eg. Stripe) would put more effort into improving Crystal instead of improving Ruby, Crystal would absolutely blow Ruby out of the water. Instead we get improvements to Ruby because larger companies have larger codebases

You'll need to have Javascript enabled to see the page. Mint's website is written in Mint, which is a compile-to-javascript front-end language that "tries to solve most common issues of Single Page Applications".

The two caste hierarchy is my biggest issue with Golang. Macro capability exists in Golang, but only for the upper caste of language creators. It makes me feel like the language creators of Golang purposefully decide that users of the langu
