Yeah if you're really taking this seriously it's worth investing in an LTO-4 drive and some tapes. There might be a better medium available nowadays but if I seriously wanted to have a piece of data fifty years from now that'

Yes we have cause to celebrate, but as we approach another lowered level of lockdown it’s important to remember that we are still battling this virus. If the numbers ramp up again because people don’t take the precautions seriously then we

I can appreciate that, there’s just been enough confusion around the meaning of elimination that I feel a lot of people will just assume we’re done with it. I don’t think the headline should be changed unless the article title changes, more

An unfortunate headline, considering that we have yet to eliminate Covid-19 in New Zealand, as the article itself discusses.

I think this is an excellent post, because you demonstrate an applied use of a bunch of excellent *nix tools, combined with a presentation of the mental model that helped you put it all together. I am largely self taught, and I didn't

Why take a video instead of just capturing stills and stitching them together, assuming the end result is a timelapse? I guess if you've got the storage space and processing power for it, but it just feels a little wasteful.

The main performance gotcha to watch out for with hand rolled DOM manipulation is causing a reflow. Pretty much if you make changes to a DOM element and then read a computed value from it before a new frame renders (like dimensions etc), th

I would disagree that ES has classical inheritance. ES6 has syntactic sugar over prototypical inheritance that resembles classical inheritance in other languages, but it's still prototypical under the hood.
