After picking up functional programming < 2 years ago and using it constantly at work, I definitely have to say I disagree with GP that OOP is easier to understand. I think there's a lot of value in the concepts of OO's message

We use JS but that code base is significantly smaller than our .NET base. I can only imagine there's a ton of massive ASP.NET MVC + a bit of jQuery internal apps still chugging along too

As someone who has tried that, eventual depression. Sitting around doing nothing is awesome until it isn't I took a over a year off from working two years ago, and it probably took less than 6 months for depression to begin setting in.
