How is that a leak ? The URL is only sent to ddg server, encrypted using TLS so no eavesdropper can read it. It also stays in your browser history and let you use the back button.

Even tho I'm septic about Cloudflare privacy-first policy, this sounds like a great alternative to "giving all your users data to Google". Also, if your site is already behind CF, it's not like you give them much more in

Very good writeup. It's amusing that Ubuntu didn't double check in the user creation tool to ensure there was in fact no current administrator account. Sounds like a fun day to me.

Yes, it could be served as an SVG. However, going to a medium page that just redirects you to this link without any explanation is not ideal either. A link change would still be better.

This is from the folks that make changelog nightly/weekly, a newsletter you can subscribe to to see what GitHub repositories were the most started in the last day/week. Nice work!

Is a file move that big of an IO operation?

Fwiw, you could use stack overflow DNS Control to manage your DNS records and upload them to many providers. Then the only thing you'd have to do is flip a line of code to fallback to the other DNS provider.

An even better question would be, why would a domain registrar block your domain at all, if it isn't for a court order ? Is it really their duty to police content of websites hosted under the domains they are selling ?

If you are using your phone, consider using an app to access HN. On Android, I use materialistic (available on f-Droid). It's a neat client!

Wow, thanks for the info. It's a shame they don't provide a read only mirror or a big archive of all the repos. Even today, on 2020,I still stumble upon some Google code repositories that I'm Glas are kept archived.
