I understand the concept of being "available" because my employer has a rule of core hours that one can be expected to be available for questions/meetings/whatever. At the same time though, sometimes you can learn a lot

The surface studio isn't entirely uncompromising - it comes with a really unimpressive GPU for the type of monitor it's pushing and the type of people it's marketed to. On the plus side, egpus should work with it. I do agree

I've done python-on-spark (and a very tiny bit of scala-on-spark). The scala stuff wasn't bad, but the python stuff was more fun. What do you think about pyspark? :)

You know what sucks ass though? The 10x developer that isn't actually a 10x developer, but continually gets to start projects! So they get to do that part where you can make 80% of the program in 20% of the time. They slap it together,

Only answering this because of the ecosystem comment. I wish manufacturers would make products that work well with anything. Like Apple watches with Android phones and vice versa, Apple TV running Amazon's Prime TV app, Amazon's P

Yeah, and once Apple decided to sell their own watch, the hope that anyone else would be able to successfully integrate their smartwatch with the iPhone went out the window, unfortunately. I hate these stupid ecosystems. There are times I w

18mph is amusingly slow. You'd have to continuously just barely tap the gas to maintain that speed.

If we're sharing annecdata: Almost every programmer I know owns a Mac and loves it, and prefers working on them. Except me. My employer doesn't let me use my own computer and refuses to buy me one.

Honestly I'm fed up of how video editors act like they're the whole damn "pro" market and nothing else matters.

I wouldn't necessarily blame the "WLAN, sound, or sleep" thing on linux. I'd blame that on cheap parts manufacturers that refuse to distribute open source drivers for fear of releasing company secrets and lack of profit

Oh, ouch! That sucks. Your product is pretty darn cool. I remember cross-comparing it and some other stuff. Only reason I didn't buy it, was the lack of a desktop webapp. (That's a serious problem IMHO.) If I were interested in mo

They could stick a GTX 1060 in there, like Razer has in their Blade 15. But that, along with the 32gb ram option, would probably result in a slightly thicker laptop with poorer battery life. But that makes me wonder: why didn't they ma

Some websites work fine on a 10 year old browser with a 10 year old computer. Others are so saturated in crappy javascript crap and auto-playing videos they'll give a modern high end machine a run for its money. I'd go out on a li

The Dell Precisions that are just rebranded Dell XPS laptops. They're nice at first but get annoying after a while. That said, the 5510 feels a heck of a lot more durable than the m3800 I used to have.

As a Mac user since 2001, what originally sold me on the 1st/2nd gen iPod was it had the capacity of the larger players without being the size of a game gear. They definitely weren't the first and they really didn't catch on
