Nobody is complaining about code not being provided. It’s more the schematics that are sitting in a drawer in Cupertino that would make the painstaking reverse engineering unnecessary. Someone at Apple would have a much easier time.

These arguments are so silly. Other person probably doesn’t like the idea that LLMs will replace hard earned skills. On the flip side, I bet you’ve seen your skills atrophy at an alarming rate and are trying to justify it. Both sides come f

Wouldn’t rationally speaking you’d want to support them to keep them around? Or did you mean selfishly speaking?

It's been days (weeks?) and I'm still waiting for the option to appear for me. These "experiments" are super annoying when you are on what I'm assuming is the long tail of a rollout but the marketing/blog posts

I used plain gtk-rs for my last project and there is definitely some friction between rust and the gobject system. I think for my next project I will give relm4 a try. Apparently you can always drop back to gtk-rs if needed.

Anthropic wants you to think that models that distill from them would be worthless otherwise. It’s not true, it’s just one part of the process. The whole narrative that Chinese and other models are only good because they distill is nonsen

Lots of people cared, it just wasn’t actionable. The situation with flock has avenues for change in town hall meetings or even good ol fashioned vandalism. Dragnet surveillance by the CIA was a bit harder to oppose.

That is an interesting thought. To me I think I think my brain is being re wired to appreciate effort. Not saying there isn’t modern art that doesn’t take effort. But paintings from the masters is a good place to start.

I don’t know if this is a reaction to AI or something, but recently I’ve only been interested in classical/realism art. I just can’t do abstract cubes anymore. The default wallpaper of windows 11 is a perfect example - I hate it. Give

Stuff runs so hot these days. I think one of the parameters pushed to keep Moores law from completely flattening was heat. My desktop regularly hits 95 just compiling code.

You make it clear why you write all your code through a llm. But a README is not code. Presumably you would like people to read it. A machine authored readme reflects poorly on a project.

That’s true. But they probably want to be able to identify other models slop as well. And with the laws popping up, it makes sense to do it the way they are.

Do they care about false positives? As long as it’s even somewhat reliable that’s enough for them to prevent training on their own slop. I think this is a big reason to do this that’s overlooked.
