Then you did not understand the main feature of Typora & Co: _real WYSIWYG_ writing MD in various flavors. Don't try to tell anyone a plain editor could even begin to compete - it is about MD being applied while you type and then q

Thank you so much! I am addicted to Typora and this looks like it could get close. I'll try it and hopefully be able to switch before it's too late. The idea to make a md-editor really WYSIWYG in the same window is a killer featur

Ok so it's decentralized, very nice. Probably I misunderstood their sync-model when I saw the star shaped network with a central server.

And Trilium also supports synchronization (though it would be more awesome if it would work decentralized like git). I'm somehow not very comfortable putting my ideas or research into some graph db I don't own.

You are right and I apologize for not reading carefully enough. Of course 16GB is the max. you can put into an MBP 2012. But: Who needs that anyway? Yes if you do heavy tasks like 4k-stuff and 3d-rendering but for most tasks you do with com

Same here. I used various other distributions for years until arriving here. 1. Suse Linux: don't know what version but it worked and broke my windows partition somehow (think it was a user error). 2. Debian: very stable but not cuttin

I know but that is not possible in every situation. I for example had no recovery mode on a MBP so I needed to get the Apple software on it somehow. The tool from dosdude can do a bit more. With it I managed to install High Sierra on a MBP

Ok as my domain is newly registered that could be a valid reason probably. It's a TLD and no service like ProtonMail. Gmail would be the next party I don't want to share information with - I know those are complicated preferences

I just wrote a message to support and I will keep you posted about any updates. Just to be sure I also ordered a free SIM card so I have a spam phone for these kinds of services. Thank you for the advice.

What about Twitter? I just created an account with an email but after few minutes of clicking around it locked me out. I can only use it again if I give them my phone number, too -.- As if this wasn't enough of their invasive procedure

Apple doesn't want to give you a choice but you can still do it: 1. Use some mac to download an older OS installer. The links are hidden but you can find them in some forums etc. 2. Create a bootstick - either manually or with software

1. If Ubuntu fades away you can use another distro (if you want it can still be debian-based) 2. Take a look at Intellij or VS Code - there is no need to use Eclipse anymore 3. "Some linux" tools run on nearly all distros and also

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. Sony: I haven't used them but considered buying one until I read about the restriction to PDFs. Onyx: I bought the Boox Note and so far it's the best e-reader I owned. The refresh rate

1. I don't think so. What is innovative about the Kindle if you compare it to Onyx/Remarkable/Sony DP/Mirasol? 2. Putting all others out of competition is Amazons strategy and they do it all too well. But this is one of
