Yeah, open source is kinda a verb now. Anyway, Facebook has other open source projects: see Hive http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hive/43928506208 Kinda silly to have a facebook page for an open source project, though.

Sad to hear this. On a morbid note, the Computer History Museum will likely be getting a hell of an equipment donation from him upon his inevitable death. Allen is, evidently, a ravenous computer collector. Also, his boat was just moored in

Just talked to the #mysql people. 6.0 is dead, yes, but the plans for it will be put into a 5.x release. 6.0 is just being rethought as the roadmap as a whole is changed. 6.0 as it was is dead, but there will still be a 6.0 eventually.

Every day, I seem to have a new "revelation" for how "you could use Hadoop for that." Either I am retarded, or there's an awful lot of standard BS that Hadoop fixes.

Uhm... Anti-sec dropped "ssh exploit codez" last week, and it turned out to be a trojan that when run, deletes your home directory. I'd expect something similar here, because if they release real exploit code, they are violating their own d
