This is spectacular. I really wish more great old game developers would do stuff like this. Not having the source code to the greatest games of our time is like having only half of the bible, or War and Peace. Or only half of Snowcrash or N

Yeah... "Rolled Up." You mean Scooter and Sam? Cause that's the only thing I can think of that made the transition from magazine to 1up. I worked there too... They kept Scooter and Sam. Sam eventually left anyway.

Actually, most media brands in the games industry are long dead and were left there to rot, without the assets even being sold. Look at EGM, GamePro, Computer Gaming World, Official Xbox Magazine. Hopefully, none of these acquired sites wil

I never claimed ADHD/ADD didn't exist. I'm just saying I was called a prime example of ADD, and I was able to eventually control myself. I'm sure there are people out there that can't, but I'd personally wager that most folks who have ADD A

I took Ritalin all through grammer and high school. Obviously it helped me concentrate, but when I got to college, all I could think was "I'm not me, I am this drug." So I stopped taking it. I flunked out of college, I moved back home, I fa

Read the last part of this, about how RJ Mical wrote the Amiga OS: http://www.sdtimes.com/blog/post/2013/01/24/Concentration-is... RJ stepped up. He volunteered to write the Amiga OS from scratch, entirely by himself. Of course, he had on

Managers who have nothing to do love to go after people for stuff like this. When a manager's job is just to crack the whip, not to remove barriers, things get bad pretty quickly.

The best code in the world is usually written faster and better by a single dood in a basement working non-stop for a couple days than it is by teams working for months.
