I’m sorry to self promote again - but: https://whispermemos.com I’m in love with the idea of pressing button on my Lock Screen and getting a perfect transcription in my inbox. Also, just added emoji summarization in email subjec

Yeah I tried JPR before but missed the workflow of sending it to my email. (Maybe they have it and I didn’t notice) Also Whisper is better for my Slovakian accent.

Not as hardcore as OP, but after Whisper came out, I quickly built an app that allows me to record from lock screen: https://whispermemos.com/

Am I late to the party? www.focustask.app Unlike OP, this is meant as purely personal tool, kinda like Things. I made it for myself, and love using it.

Your landing page doesn’t tell me much on mobile.

Haha this is just a side project - I'm co-founder of Reflect ( https://reflect.app ) and more likely we'll be integrating this functionality into our note-taking app.

Somebody could build an Android frontend - and use the same OpenAI Whisper library on the server. I didn't bother with React Native thinking audio recording would be pain in the butt.

There’s a subscription to use it beyond 20 free memos. Running these models is pretty expensive!

Currently 10m limit, but I’ll be testing more.

I suppose the built-in iOS voice recognition would be better for that. I haven't really compared those two properly. Wonder how much better Whisper is.

Haha, you are totally right. I was mainly trying to have fun with a new technology. The email thing makes a lot of difference for me - I don't wanna fiddle with my phone any more than just pressing one button. I'll do the rest on

This an iOS wrapper for OpenAI Whisper library. You can use the lock screen widget to start recording - allowing you to quickly capture what's on your mind. This comment was the inspiration behind this: https://news.ycombina

I was just picking technology for my new landing page and was looking into Preact first. I wanted basic SSR and things like that. Preact has a library called preact-cli for this. The last commit is from Aug 17. I ended up with SvelteKit. It

You’d think old Church Slavonic to be an obscure language, but in my local church (in eastern Slovakia) you can attend a liturgy in this language twice a week.

A little misleading, I was hoping for a phone that just cannot run any social networks.

I was really surprised about the gas prices in Canaries during my trip in February... What's going on there?

I suggest reading Four Thousand Weeks. If you’re inclining towards religion, read Bob Goff. If not, read about Buddhism and stoicism. Read a bunch. It helps gain perspective.

Actually the installments are a great way to think about purchases. I have a budget of 500€ for sports per year. I use this on gyms, running shoes and what not. I wanted to get into skiing so I bought some skis this year. It was about 700€.

YJS is one of the more performant ones. Wonder how it would do with your example file.

It would be interesting to see MindNode approach applied to PKM-style backlinks like in Reflect [1]. So not only visualize connections between pages, but also the outline inside each page. [1] https://reflect.app

Wouldn't `foo@example.com` be a better testing email.
