I get easily annoyed by arrogant style, but this seems okay to me. He's really just trying to share what he's learned and it seems very honest. It's not like "you should follow me on Twitter" at all.

I wouldn't spend time trying to "cause" a lucid dream, I have enough goals to chase that affect my awake life. But I have these dreams sometimes, it's always just fun. My two favorite things are to fly, and to make portals. Yeah, portals li

Here's what I think when I read it: Maybe I should follow you on Twitter, maybe I will, but I don't think I wanna ever meet you in real life. You sound like you're a lot smarter than everybody else, and I'm not smart enough for you.

E-mail is a low price for "Getting Real". I'm just surprised that 37signals are using techniques of "six-pack in a week"-kind of sites.

The only problem is when you design a similar minimalistic theme, everybody will say you're copying Svbtle.

Any argument against using CocoaPods for managing ASIHTTPRequest, Socket.IO, etc.? Renaming seems like an ugly solution.

This one is the best so far: 1. Works with any JavaScript library 2. You can write server-side logic 3. Operational Transformation baked in Seriously I cannot find anything bad about this project. (I really wanted to.) My questions: 1. Is

They want you to build server-less apps, so they provide the server. It makes sense.

That's very nice. But I have 54 private repos on my VPS. I think about something, start writing some code, and I need a repo. Public GitHub repo would work too, but I don't want to have experiments all over my GitHub page. So yeah, this is

This is no open source. When I saw the Light Table demo, I wanted to build it for CoffeeScript, and I could do it. This morning I found this, I got excited because I could use your interface and create a plugin for CoffeeScript. I was hopin

It's the age of Google Docs, not Microsoft Office. As soon as more than one user is involved, there must be some logic on the server side.

The issue is bigger: All of the business logic is on the client side. You will, eventually, have to move some of the logic to the server side. I'm sure that it is/will be possible with Meteor/Firebase, but it's not as easy as writing a Rail

How long did it take you to build this prototype? I'm interested because when I played with Clojure I didn't feel like you can make quick prototypes with it.

The code that deals with Spine model interface is encapsulated in the AppContext class: https://github.com/vojto/atmos2/blob/master/src/app_context.... There are methods such as create, update, and theoretically, all you need to do is to

Here's something that easily woke me up after a day of coding: It's a card game called SET - here are the rules: http://www.setgame.com/set/rules_set.htm It's for 2+ players, and it's all about how quickly you can find the set in 12 cards

You're getting downvotes because you're complaining about an innovative, cool thing on hacker news that couldn't deal with the traffic. Just try it later. Edit: I didn't downvote your comment.

Interesting reading only I expected to learn more. It ends up with the simple concept of memories being mapped to cells, which I didn't know, but it also doesn't surprise me - the brain must store the information somehow. And Jennifer Anist

There's a great way to find out. Track your working cycles and your breaks, and see how long they are at what times. I made an app that helps you with that, look for Zone on the Mac App Store, if you're interested.

If the design wasn't so similar you wouldn't even notice it's a "rip off". Plus, your value is not the app, it's the people in the network, so stay calm and let us not-so-cool people use the open-source clone.
