That's cool and all, but them investing $1,100 and two weeks of one engineer's time doesn't yet give me confidence that they're in this for the long haul. It'll be interesting to see how long the long tail of remain

Ah yeah, I remember that. General point still stands: in terms of the lived experience of developers, `var` is essentially deprecated.

One question I have, that perhaps you might be able to answer (though I see you've gotten too many replies to this comment already): I'm aware of a number of such systems being developed, and "is over 18" is always the e

I kinda like the way JS evolved into a modern language, where essentially ~everyone uses a linter that e.g. prevents the use of `var`. Sure, it's technically still in the language, but it's almost never used anymore. (Assuming tra

No that's fair, I was wondering whether to look up a fully accurate definition (ironically), but figured it didn't really matter for the point that people use it to mean what it sounds like, instead of what it was defined like. An

A fun one I recently encountered: I was asked to estimate the number of story points a ticket would take, using "1 story point equals 1 day of work, so if e.g. you need 7 days of work, that would be 7 story points". Not sure what

IIRC, the goal was for Fluent to have a convertor or something to be able to work with MessageFormat 2.0, but I don't quite remember where I heard that. My approach has just been to stick to Fluent for now.

Yeah it's actually MessageFormat 2 [1] that's very informed by Fluent's design I believe; I think that comparison is to "normal" MessageFormat. [1] https://messageformat.unicode.org/

Yeah that's why it's hard to prove. However, it does show that infrastructure experts who actually care about safety (and have achieved the safety numbers to support it) reach for a lot of other measures before they do helmet mand

It sounds to me like the goal there is to spell out everything you don't want the agent to make assumptions about. If you let the agent make the plan, it'll still make those assumptions for you.
