I did not (and it's a bit too much of a hassle given the lack of password manager and having to mess with OTP codes to try it now), but it feels basically instant, especially in normal use (e.g. just scrolling from post to post). So ev

Odd, it works really smoothly for me, on Firefox for Android as well. Which is not to discount your experience, but just to emphasise that people will probably have to try for themselves to see what it'll be like on their device.

If you use Mastodon, I'd really urge you to try Phanpy. It's not just a great Mastodon client - it has a few genuinely innovative interaction patterns that work really well. Really hard to believe that it's pretty much made b

I agree that it's a hard problem (like fair markets regulation in general - e.g. it's not straightforward how to define a particular market either). Unfortunately I'm also not sure what the better solution would be - at least

The DMA is not (directly) about what users want; it's about markets having level playing fields, where all competitors have the same opportunities and thus have to win based on merit, rather than based on dominance in a different marke

In fact, I think that's even the only true goal. Operating the gate is a manual process that takes some effort and time, so it's not like they run out to operate it every time someone pushes the button. In practice, I think they

Criticism I have seen: - Safari will always still be installed and have its icon on the first page of your home screen by default, even if you choose another browser. - Choosing another browser doesn't actually select it - it brings yo

The worst future is where there still are plenty of jobs, but all of them consist of talking to an AI and hoping you use the right words that gets them to do what you need it to.

I've used both MSW and Storybook, and they're both fine. They both have some advantages and disadvantages. One advantage of Storybook is that getting to a particular state on a particular page is a matter of selecting the right st

Why would anyone run their own aggregator? (i.e. if you run a search engine, you can show contextual ads to recoup your investment and then some.) Sorry about going off-topic, I realise it's only tangentially about labelling.
