Just checked with the team (I used to be involved), and apparently the reason is that Tor's policy is too short for the algorithm that turns policy annotations into a grade. (This also kickstarted a discussion that maybe that warrants

Well, the security should be good enough for most people's threat models. But government officials will probably want to have some restrictions on who can be added to a group, for example.

Their shtick is that they won't have to fight much, because they can't turnover someone's messages. Here are some examples of where they were legally compelled to turn over everything they had, and they did - but it was r

The main question is whether this will lead to a flywheel effect, where adoption is self-reinforcing. Because we've been seeing that in the Netherlands, a small country that is nevertheless now in the top 5 countries with most Signal u

I have learned a long time ago not to make claims about how hard it is to implement something in other people's projects - I get it wrong often enough about my own. (Also, I don't think there's a single "PWA spec".)

If you have site-specific issues, if you're up to it it would be great if you could report it via the menu (or Help, on MacOS) -> Report broken site, or via https://webcompat.com .

From the Connect post I gather that a middle ground is basically the plan - you'll still have e.g. your extensions accessible, but there won't be a tab bar.

As I understand it, two problems are: 1) There's no clear definition of what it's "supposed" to. Not everyone who uses the term PWA wants the same things. 2. Some things are just a lot harder to implement than others.

That too seems an ungenerous characterisation, and the GP could not have deduced that from the OP. I'm glad the author is constructively incorporating criticism and working to turn this into a useful tool that OSM users will benefit fr

Not all these motions were by GL/PvdA (but a few were), and they haven't been in power for a long time, and aren't now, so there's not much more than "gestures" you can expect of them at the moment. But yes, th

Let's first see if the actual government follows suit - this is just a call by Parliament. And even if the government follows suit, we'll have to see how long it will take and how well they will do it. But still a good first step.
