Very much reminded of "Daemon" by Daniel Suarez, where the system is watching the news to find out when people were dead, etc.

I like the idea I heard about taxing based on the owner's view of value. Give 14 years free. Every year after that, the copyright holder has to tell you how much they think the work is worth to them. Then you tax them some (smallish)

Just fyi, I get no output from "cowsay hello" or "ls", and I see a bunch of errors in the Chrome JS debugger.

So, could someone now make a Visual Studio Code (and specifically code-server) that has ghostty-web as the Terminal?

My co-worker Mike and I had our monitors set up back-to-back. When he wanted my attention, he'd degauss his monitor.

You can try it now, if you like: > docker run -it --rm -v $(pwd)/saves:/home/zork/save mattcruikshank/zork1-source:latest

Thanks for your work on this! I tried to use these official sources to make my own. https://github.com/MattCruikshank/zork1-source Curious if you have feedback: > docker run -it --rm -v $(pwd)/saves:/home&

Very true - but I also wanted to try VS 2026. I'm no Docker developer, but I'm working on a Dockerfile to build zilf, build zork, and run frotz.

Zilf liked it, but Zapf is flagged by Windows 11 Smart App Control as potentially dangerous to my machine... And there's no way to turn it off for one app. And if I turn it off, I can only turn it back on by re-installing Windows. What

The thing I want is probably very stupid - I'd like Zork I through III ported to Inform 6... I don't specifically know why that appeals to me. I guess it's because I'd like to tinker with it and understand it better. A

My wishlist for the next version: 1. Microphone. 2. Headphone jack. When I'm trying to not wake the kids, this would be nice. 3. Dedicated Volume Buttons. 4. A quick way to make it act like a Roku Remote. This would prevent me from n

It depends entirely on the game. For a AAA modern game, you're right - of course not. But remember, they're saying this thing is six times as powerful as the Steam Deck. That sounds like it might be able to handle 4 players runnin

This immediately made me wonder about a Steam Machine driving multiple Steam Frames for multiplayer games. That could be super easy for a developer to make, all in one process, with no networking requirement for the game logic...

Next question in my head... Can we use one Steam Machine to drive, say, 4 to 16 Steam Frames. Multiplayer gameplay, like Goldeneye. With the convenience that all of the state is in memory in one process, so there's no networking layer

I wish there were a Monogame plugin that enabled all of these with essentially zero effort. I also wonder how many could be ported to run in the browser for games.

They mention tracking the new Steam Controller, too. Which makes me wonder if they'll make a new Steam Deck that has the IR emitters in it, so the Frame could track the Deck? I wonder if the two working together could work well?
