The reality is that public transport will always be the superior solution. No matter how big you make the highway some trains are always going to beat traffic. Combine that with some Park&Ride places on the outskirts and bus/subway

I feel like a backup generator is the last place where I would make my decisions based on the environment. I mean how long is it actually going to be active? Also batteries aren't exactly environment friendly either.

Give it a few years and OpenStreetMap will be superior. Here in Germany it will probably beat google maps most of the time. There is of course still the routing part.

You just have to look at the insurances. Instead of advacating for drivers to get a commercial or semi-commercial insurance it's handled trough Uber locking drivers in.

Uber has, but once you start deregulation it's just a question of time until drivers figure out they can get rides without paying Uber 20% and offer them cheaper.

These same people wouldn't be able to do this as Uber drivers because despite being unregulated But his point is that after Uber there will be services that don't operate that way. And Uber is not a great option for ever

Probably depends where you live. Google isn't as popular as in the US everywhere so in countries where they lack this user provided traffic data the differences aren't as big.
