"Beautiful" is very hard to maintain when a system starts changing. Think of adding a new box to the middle of an already-busy diagram; it could take an hour to re-align everything. In the 2020s a dev's time is probably bette

Drag-and-drop diagramming tools have their place, but they're a pretty bad choice for system architecture diagramming. I wrote on this last year: https://www.ilograph.com/blog/posts/its-time-to-drop-drag-an...

If you find the C4 model to be too arbitrary and over-specified, I wrote on an alternative practice earlier this year: https://www.ilograph.com/blog/posts/concrete-diagramming-mod...

Linear scaling is more the exception than the rule, no? And it not just for "tech" either: it's unlikely you could learn the names of 15k employees in 2 months, for instance.

... not really? That's a whole lot less drastic and overboard than serving a jail sentence for piracy, which can and does happen.

Static type checking won the battle, but lost the war to microservices, micro front-ends, micro-repos, and so on.

On the other hand, sharing via images isn't good, because the recipient loses accessibility. Probably better to just share the original in most cases.

Have you looked at Ilograph? It's diagrams-as-code that supports first-class sequence diagrams. E.g. https://app.ilograph.com/demo.ilograph.Ilograph/Get%2520diag...

Atlassian Marketplace does this for all their 3rd-party apps, e.g. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1229877/ilograph-inte... You can put in any number from 1 to 50,000 users and get an exact quote. This is p

I'm pretty sure retailers pay wholesalers, not the other way around.

It's not a retail store. The App Store does not purchase, hold, and resell inventory from wholesalers. These are necessary functions to be considered retail.

Very handy if you're already familiar with the system, but probably a little opaque for newcomers. The fact that the arrows aren't labeled (much less explained) is a bit of a let down. You kind of have to guess at what each arrow

Thanks! Yeah, you can certainly use Ilograph for C4. To see one layer at a time (the common way C4 is shown), set the detail slider, in top-right of the app [0], all the way to the left (low detail). [0] https://app.ilograph.com&
