It blows my mind that this is his first foray into functional languages. Makes my imagination wonder what the current state of the gaming and programming industries would be like, had he built Wolf 3D in a functional language and inspired e

Companies should sponser open source efforts similar to some pro athletes. Pro skateboarders make a living off sponsorships. They get free gear and travel expenses from their sponsors and in turn get their sponsors name out. More Organizati

Also be wary of companies passively pitching work/life balance as a culture point. I spent time at a company that superficially was very 'work/life balance'. When pressed on the specifics of what that ment to them regarding hours on call an

Beyond Ember.js this is a highly constructive approach to any API Library you are developing. Developers tend to disregard User Experience when building out tools for other developers. Put yourself in a first time users perspective like thi

Some projects like Lockitron aren't allowed anymore, so that's a big reason for them not using Kickstarter (and app.net I don't think was allowed either). But another reason is that Kickstarter is US/UK-only, and with the Crowdtilt API on t

I think the black and white is a great atmospheric choice. It reminds me of Frank Miller's Sin City. Also from the video I got a bit of feel of Metriod 2 on the GameBoy. Which was B&W and had a very creepy subterranean feel. You could p

I've always considered SASS the only true successor to CSS. LESS and SCSS are syntactically conservative. I feel they retain the grammatical conventions of CSS (curly braces) as a way to ease the learning curve for conservative developers.
