Coming from JavaScript, Java and Python, Rust has a steep learning curve, but with thought and patience you can learn to write Rust. I am getting much better at thinking about ownership before even compiling now. If some silly webdev like m

If a router can change the HTML it can load JavaScript and so it's already game over.

How could anyone take C away from you anyway? You can build your own C. You can build your own hardware to run your own C compiler on.

Sure, and the UI differences become a big problem though when you want to set something up and cannot find the available documentation for intellij IDEA. The instructions will only be for Pycharm and making the translation of where to find

It's really not a big deal for a child to memorize this table. I also think memorizing the squares up to 25 is worth it.

Sorry hari, I love intellij and the work you do there, but I do not believe you. Please show me an IntelliJ IDEA that looks and behaves exactly like webstorm and pycharm just with plugins. You can't. For example Pycharm doesn't ev

No, they can't. The special versions of their editors do things that are not possible in a plugin because of how much the UI changes the editor. The good news is that you can now get a license for all of the intellij based IDEs. It

I'd certainly like to know how of those down voting me think I am wrong. Are you going to resist arrest and think that will turn out well? Maybe you don't like reality, but it is what it is. The police frequently have to deal with

I am saddened by this loss. Everyone should know that even if you think you are being wronged that you must listen to and obey every instruction a police officer gives you. If they did something wrong you can bring it up to your lawyer afte

Completely subjective here but no Go would not be better. Java has generics. Java has more support, more tooling and Android's existing eco system is fully mature. If they started out from scratch it would result in worse language with

Writing a linked list is pretty hard in Rust for someone new to the language. Perhaps this wasn't as obvious from the book's introduction as I thought it would be.

I recently got started working with Rust and even though I have pretty decent programming experience in statically typed languages Rust has been quite a challenge. The borrow checker learning curve is very high. Even if you understand the b

Reading this post I am reminded just how much more work it is to have a functional linux desktop that ends up running worse than a Mac or windows box. More for less. Less battery life, less games, less driver support. Old hardware. I'v

Phabricator[0] is a more mature alternative if anyone is interested in an open source and free substitute for GitHub. I think the only thing GitLab might have over Phabricator is a familiar GitHub like UI. Phabricator was an internal Facebo

Are you forced to use JSON with RethinkDB? Like is the mechanism RethinkDB -> JSON String -> to POJO and POJO -> JSON string -> RethinkDB with each database interaction? That seems crazy inefficient.
