One way to run LLM on android phone is to run ggerganov/llama.cpp in console like termux and it works quite well but is not super convenient. I was working on the app to make running on-device LLMs more user friendly, please try it ou

Password is something you know and pass key(or a physical key) is something that you own.

How do you know that the product you use was built from the provided sources?

Because users who lost account because of lack of 2FA usually require attention and support resources. It’s easier to require more security than to figure out if this is a legitimate user who is trying to get access.

Pages are sorted by page rank, you pick first 10-100k pages and sort using other factors, then take first 10-100 results and sort using most costly factors.

Why do you think this way exactly? Yandex did own news service they were forced to take news only from state approved sources but besides that I don't think your statement is correct.

Most developers in Uber use local builds anyway because of input lag. Dev pods were mostly good to prevent laptop from working at 100% fan volume at all times though.

It shows not the number of shown results which is pretty much same for any query, but number of all pages that contain the keywords. It is not really feasible to rank and show millions of pages, but is possible to do that for few hundred pa

Interesting fact you obtain when you create a GP search engine - getting a reasonable results for “gmail” and “google news” is not trivial )

And since you don't use an IDE you can try to spend this time on exploring what an IDE can do. If you really write code you can write code 10-100x faster.

Did you try any IDE from Intellij? Just spend 30 minutes on exploring what can it do out of the box.

This is because most developers are not willing to learn even basic code completion and refactoring functions in IDE. When you write constructors and getters by hand in Intellij Idea, chances are you won’t pay for that.

HDD is definitely not enough because of low iops, likely Google keeps index in RAM. I think NVME should be good enough, idk for sure.

I'd estimate that Google uses ~1000 TB of fast storage, Bing 500 TB and Yandex 100 TB, so the most basic useful search engine would use at least... 10 TB?

I wonder if you can have a full Mina node on any device including low-end phones, keep full network state and do payments in same time? It sounds too good to be true...

How do you do that? Even when your code has no memory allocations sockets still leak memory.

I don't understand why this simple 2nd grade math is featured on hacker news. I guess the next topic will be a long discussion what would be 1/2 divided by 2/3.
