It does have actual genuine uses. I'm in the process of recording a series of tutorials for my peers but I'd like them to hear things in my voice so it doesn't sound like I have offloaded the work to someone else. I don'

They seem to have a blog post on that: https://trynova.dev/blog/why-build-a-js-engine It reads like an experimental approach because someone decided to will it into existence. That and to see if they can achieve better

This is a non-starter for many larger companies. With supply chain attacks being what they are currently, this would directly prompt Security teams to block this outright.

Just to add a bit to the excellent list this thread has collected: https://github.com/kuchin/awesome-cto Some hit-and-miss there but I discovered a lot of great advice.

You could make the same argument backwards though - many people may find it easier to do deep copies rather than throwing extra software they might not necessarily be familiar with.

I'm not sure if you're asking why deep copies are useful or something else. Maybe you're handing over your data to a library developed by someone else and you want to make sure the library cannot mutate your original data, so

It is very frequently needed when you're working with a component framework like React or Vue. Typically leaf components shouldn't mutate properties directly but rather emit a changed version of the original data they receive. But

No, you're right, and I should have set the expectation that you can't really get into deep thinking mode that more demanding tasks require. But a lot of it can be discrete or boilerplate. While it's not muscle memory yet, le

I was a high schooler when I was learning to code. I had a laptop but only the breaks between classes to do it. So what I'd usually do was get up in the morning and learn something, then sporadically practice and experiment with it for

There are alternatives throughout Europe. The Balkans have Emag, Benelux has bol.com. I think in both regions Amazon is less popular. I'm sure there are other examples.

It's the closest thing to a quote without being a quote. Enabling interpolation for old syntax would break old websites that display strings that aren't intended to be interpolated. If you're curious enough, I'm sure you

One that I feel is underappreciated is the inline translation of whatever website you are browsing. I don't speak well the language of the country I currently live in and Chrome really helps. I haven't really found a comparable fe

There's a lot of division between frontenders and non-frontenders. Project like this help making frontend concepts more accessible to other developers. Great way to make things simple here!

This looks like a lot of fun. I'm curious, where did inspiration come from? I love playing creative versions of classic games like that and if something inspired you to build this, I'd like to try it too :) This reminded me of a p

Makes sense. In 0.x.y releases, any version changes are allowed to have backwards-incompatible changes. Authors typically use "minor" version changes to indicate this. https://semver.org/#spec-item-4
