Government shouldn't silence speech. If you say something society considers awful, other private firms and citizens are well within their right to shun you. The problem with Rogan is that he's actively advertised despite being a r

Doesn't solve PoW pollution issues. Pollution is equal to resource use, which is equal to mining rewards. Mining rewards are proportional to market price, not # of transactions. So lightning could help with scale (I dont think it will)

Proof of stake has been ~18months away for ethereum since 2015. Sure, they've built some stuff at this point, but have made no progress on the inner politics of the issue. So it remains in some untouchable future for the time being.

If your argument is full "code is law!" then you need to take the flipside: When someone inevitably hacks the shitty solidity code and steals your stuff you don't get to cry to twitter or the police

About user-grown features. Over time, Java let users expose more lower level details to the language than before. But, really, watch the talk. It's one of the best conference talks in computer science history.

I would say Java the language is fine, but the culture around it is what's grown the distaste many have for it. The overuse of design patterns, etc. I also find it fun how Guy Steele had in retrospect the perfect plan for Java back in
