What work would count as valid open source work though? I assume projects that people use are obvious. But what about ones where you're just throwing up your own projects where they start out with no users or impact? Even though its op

By the way I forgot to add: if anyone needs a list of public STUN, TURN, MQTT, or NTP servers I wrote a monitor for them last year and added a bunch of servers. This is basically the infrastructure I use for my P2P library. The public API i

Going to mention my own project which aims to be 100% open source, free, and relies almost only on public infrastructure: https://github.com/robertsdotpm/p2pd Basically, I'm building a framework for building NAT t

I feel like if it were combined with federated caching servers it would actually work. Then you would have persistence and the p2p part helps take load off popular content. There are now P2P databases that seem to operate with this. Combini

So tired of these posts about people jerking themselves off over how good they are because they used AI to shit out some trivial bullshit. Like, I'm glad you're saving time and money. That's what AI now does. It's what m

So would the use-case mostly be for people who edit lots of files over shells? I guess I was mostly thinking of coding stuff. Or do people use it for coding too?

I never understood the appeal of these command-line editors with a million commands for different edge-cases. Why not just use VSCode? It has every possible extension you already need and a simple GUI. No need to type commands just to edit

Anyone else just thoroughly sick of this AI bullshit? I feel like after this post OP probably went and fapped to their portrait. Lets be real here. If AI is making you "50x faster" you're probably not working on hard problems

(1) No reason to build your own blockchain. This will only increase complexity and undermine security for no reason. (2) No reason not to adapt existing standards to be compatible with any of the wallets that already exist. (3) No reason to

I think I get more what they're going for now. A technical person can setup a server for themselves and setup services to work for multiple projects. But its complex to get everything right. Trying to reuse a server, setting up routing
