Cool. It kind of reminds me of how problems are often solved in an FPGA. You can only have so much combinatorial logic before you need to break the problem up into multiple stages. The subitizing thing seems like solving the problem in one

A word of caution to anyone considering buying one of the 4 TB Hitachi drives listed in the report: There are a lot of vendors selling “refurbished” HGST drives. Do not buy these. As I understand it, there is no such thing as a refurbished

For what it’s worth, the Mustang had a somewhat significant refresh in 2011 (totally new engine design, but not considered a new generation), then another refresh around 2014 (mostly exterior body changes IIRC).

That depends heavily on the location. In many suburban developments, the power/communication lines are all buried underground. It would probably be much easier to install a couple of microcells around the neighborhood than to dig up ev

The reason I brought up “normal sinus rhythm” and “atrial fibrillation” a few posts up is because those are two of the four possible results produced by the Apple Watch EKG app, the other two being “low and high heart rate” and “inconclusiv

On a somewhat related note: The Apple Watch gave me a false positive for atrial fibrillation. I was having premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), which are _generally_ benign as long as your heart has no structural abnormalities. Basica

My fear with fixed link wireless broadband is that it won’t be “real” internet in the sense of a publically accessible IP. In the case of regular cellular service, is the IP publically accessible, or is it behind a NAT of some sort? I alway
