I was talking about this in another comment, and I think the big issue at the moment is that a lot of the local models seem to really struggle with tool calling. Like, just straight up can’t do it even though they’re advertised as being abl

People on HN do a lot of wishful thinking when it comes to the macOS LLM situation. I feel like most of the people touting the Mac’s ability to run LLMs are either impressed that they run at all, are doing fairly simple tasks, or just have

If it ever leaked that OpenAI was training on the vast amounts of confidential data being sent to them, they’d be immediately crushed under a mountain of litigation and probably have to shut down. Lots of people at big companies have accoun

I was joking! Claude Code is still the best afaik, though I’d compare it more to “sending a 1440p HDR fax of your user story to a 4-armed mime whose mind is then read by a Aztec psychic who has taken just the right amount of NyQuil.”

Totally disagree. The current state of coding AIs is “a level 2 product manager who is a world class biker balancing on a unicycle trying to explain a concept in French to a Spanish genius who is only 4 years old.” I’m not going to explain

A lot of the negativity around this post is about the fact that there’s no demo and no open weights, which is Correct Negativity. Like don’t get me wrong, it would be cool for something like this to exist, but I’ve generally learned not to

I get that if you can imagine something, it exists, and also there is porn of it. What disappoints me is how aligned the whole community is with its worst exponents. That someone went “Heh heh, I’m gonna spend hours of my day and hundreds&#

I’m interested to see what this model can do, but also kinda annoyed at the use of a Studio Ghibli style image as one of the first examples. Miyazaki has said over and over that he hates AI image generation. Is it really so much to ask that

I’m on my phone at the moment, and didn’t want to judge this product on its iOS Safari performance, as that wouldn’t be fair. With regard to my attitude: I’ve run into a lot of people who are trying to build “AI video editors”, and many of

So I appreciate the aim here, but for me to trust any video editor, I need to see an example timeline that’s like, 30 minutes long with clips from at least 10 1080p video files and at least one effect on each track. And for the record I wou

“using AI tools to write code” is too clunky of a phrase. Unless someone proposes a sticky two/three-syllable verb (that people actually want to use, inb4 some sarcastic person suggests “poop-coding” or something) then people are going
