How would abolishing copyright law not make everyone (but the content creator) basically the equivalent of a vampire AI corporation slurping up what they please? Why would anyone create when everyone instantly gets to use their hard work in

Unfortunately even in safer areas there are predators out looking for prey at 2:35 a.m., especially in places where crime is now epidemic.

Sounds like fantastic software. Would be nice to know who you're referencing here.

"I googled "fair use copyright US" and have now decided that US copyright law is stupid" How long exactly did you study the issue? It is very complex.

Using LTSC or Enterprise is keeping me on Windows. If those weren't an option for me and my family I'd be gone to Linux. I don't know how anyone uses the "Home" edition. I guess they don't know better.

That was a good read, thanks. I'd like to know how the last 20 yrs have effected things and if musicians are still getting just as screwed. Sadly I'm guessing yes.

I appreciated the author adding "What is (was!) XUL layout?". Goodbye XUL. I used you mightily but didn't even know your name. :(

I agree. I wish there were bare-bare-bones options with a radio and ac/heat. I will use my phone otherwise.

That article was feverish. I think the author is making it a bit too complicated. Also, there's much talk about the Met and their art collection. Even with the challenges of LED bulbs, they wouldn't go back. Damaging UV is no long

Windows 10 LTSC - I couldn't agree more. If this version doesn't exist I'd be only using Windows for gaming at this point. I still heavily modify LTSC but it's a big improvement from the unusable HOME version.

There are several good 3rd party reddit apps available. RIF on android is my choice.

Yup, but I think the website sucks because it's built to cater to their terrible app. Funny thing is half a dozen independent app makers have done it better. Hopefully Reddit doesn't try to block them at some point.

Instead of Man Shouting at Clouds, this is Man Shouting at GUIs. Still pretty entertaining. :)

In my area, friend groups are organizing into LLPs and buying up houses for investments. Individual people home shopping have to deal with this kind of competition. Houses are bid out of their price range and become airbnbs.

This feels a bit like Bill Joy's article about nano-technology. I think it's just a healthy fear the the unknown future. AI will be refined into usable tools, mostly good with some other unintended negative consequences. Sounds li

As far as the console goes, I would gravitate to the most basic I possibly could. I don't want to spend an extra 6k for stuff I'd rather do on my phone anyway.

Adobe will need to allow the importing of custom models, or else their product will be too limited. That then allows the "unofficial" use of copyrighted material for image generation. They're definitely starting from a place
