The problem is choice. You can choose to buy those things. You can't with the BBC. 150 GBP is quite a lot when you only earn minimum wage. It quite a few books/dvds you could have brought instead of watching tv.

Fairly standard occurrence in the startup world tbh. Desperate startups wanting to get press attention will exaggerate or make up stories. Media doesn't care, because they get a nice story to print.

I think a lot of the small startups, if you start talking legal, signing things, creating contracts etc will get scared or annoyed that your taking control. Maybe that's a sign not to join though.

Literally every place I've worked uses red gate. I've never had an issue with it, If you make sure your database is constantly up to date. So changes are small.

They've been around for a long time. I don't think they will become as popular as red gate. Since you have to write the migrations yourself. That's a lot of additional work.

It's very hard for companies to do this, if you have multiple offers. You say I've got a better offer from x, and they will have to beat or say no. You keep doing this, eventually you will reach market price regardless of negation

If you have the skills you don't even need strong negotiation skills. You always have the ability to just get multiple offers and walk away from the worst.

Why isnt it a replacement. NuGet/Packet for dependencies. Octopus/Web Deploy etc for deployment. All of which can be used from this tool.

Since it's only come out not all 3rd party scripts are going to available straight away. but there are standard http post/get/put commands so you can write your own.
