"Your web server is not the bottleneck." - Highly depends on your setup. But removing any 3rd party libraries, and external requests. Generally .NET core is faster.

Just a basic request/response with barely anything thing in it, shows the .NET core is faster than node. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43920942/unexpected-outc... Obviously this isn't very scientif

Yes, but CRUD applications are typically done for small applications on uninteresting problems where people don't really care about code quality. So they have a bad reputation. The worst CRUD applications, is where they've been ex

It's generally hard to do academic research on these sorts of things. Since you need multiple teams, building similar software in order to compare.

Most of those are products that are not expected run over night in batching mode. You may get the need to have things to run overnight using engineering, simulation, rendering products with some sort of long running process. But these norma

But there isn't good alternative for client operating system. The best you can do use devops tools, but you can tell they're really built for server deployments.

It's nothing to do with the support guys. It's do with the support by the vender. When you deploy an os over something as large as the NHS, your going to hit a few snags, perhaps at the code level. You will need somebody who you c

Does it have something that is at least as powerful as active directory? If not, it's a no go for an organisation such as the NHS.

I would assume the large majority of windows users doing batch stuff over night are businesses. At that point you should probably be using windows server + wsus. Which give you a lot more control over updates.

NHS isn't centralised. And not really locked in. NHS relies patch work of legacy software. Each trust and hospital handle I.T their own way. Which is why some are affected and some are not. So far it spread via file sharing and emails.
