Not only that, but no zooming? They obviously don't want anyone to read it on a smallish screen. Instant close-tab.

Without Steve Jobs, Jony Ive is just another designer. No doubt he's a very good one, but many others are just as good, if not better. It's sad that Steve couldn't be there to tell Jony that the iOS 7 design sucked, big time

For the 6+, why couldn't they use a 1600x900 screen at 2x and be done with it? That'd be 800x450 points and 330 dpi, nice and easy. Rendering at 3x and then down sampling to 1920x1080 seems like a lot of useless busy work for abs

I saw irony in the title at first, and conspiracy on second thought.

> CJK users want the Latin to be rendered using the same font used for CJK. Not true. Latin characters in CJK fonts are ugly beyond belief. I think most CJK users either just don't know what they're missing, or don't car

I totally agree. Microsoft basically stopped innovating around 2000, when they began catering less to the consumer and more to the enterprise, because that's where the money was. IMHO, the merging of Win 98/ME and Win NT/200

I loved the xterm "huge" font, simple and clear, great for high DPI displays. Windows Fixedsys is a passable replacement for low DPI displays.

Actually this tab style dates back to at least Firefox 3. I didn't check further back. It looks like XUL can't do it the right way, and they don't care enough to do it right.

That's hardly a good Mac UI. On the Mac: 1. Tab close buttons should be on the left, not the right. 2. They got the tab title right, in the center, but site icon should be right next to the site title, not on the far left.

I'm not suggesting that we rip out the existing multitasking ability in OS X. Just the option to freeze SOME apps when I switch away from them, and unfreeze them when I switch back. I can already do this with "killall -STOP Safari" and "k

You spoke my mind. Especially the CPU usage bit, I can't wait for Apple to pull the iOS-style multitasking into OS X.

The Windows interface used to be clean and usable. Then they saw Mac OS X's Aqua and panicked, scrambled and came up with the turd that's XP, losing the "clean"; kept polishing that turd and came up with Aero in Vista, losing the "usable".

Doesn't a gravity train actually seem more appropriate here? It doesn't need to go through the center of the earth in this case, and is shorter distance than a tunnel. The only problem is it probably takes a lot longer to build.

I am going to give Bing a try, as I noticed that loading a Google page puts an extra ~10% CPU usage on Firefox ever since they integrated that Google+ crap.

Thank you for the links, as I wasn't going to visit the brain dead extremetech site on my iPad. OS X mockup: the window control traffic lights don't line up vertically with the toolbar/tab bar icons, looks jarring. The close tab button is s

I think the primary problem with Xcode is that huge amount of new code has been added in recent years, and the new code has not had a chance to be thoroughly tested.

They sure love showing off screenshots on Mac OS X. But when are they going to follow the basic Mac OS X convention of putting the close button on the left, and centering the tab titles?
