And C++ is used in so many places on top of that. Every web browser is written in C++. Most GUI systems are written in C++ (or Objective C). All gaming engines are written in C++, etc.

jemalloc doesn't support non-Unix platforms (eg Windows). You may or may not be able to find a Windows port of any particular jemalloc version, but the developers ignore Windows because they don't use it in their server software.

The majority of your programming is not with the intent to deliberately improve. Thus it doesn't count towards that 10,000 hours. That's the biggest misconception of the 10,000 hour metric.
