Start ups may not have a lot of time to respond to that sort of thing. When you are living off Ramen and praying that you don't lose money this year, you tend to be pretty busy.

Yeah, the huge sparse white space is killing me. I don't have a lot of money so I am rocking a 22" screen at 1680 x 1050. I try to squeeze every last bit of screen real estate out of it. Hopefully someone will make a Firefox plugin to make

This bubble is going to pop harder than any bubble in the history of the U.S. Ugh.

I still check my mail. I said "pretty much". I'm more at like 99% electronic.

by TruthElixirX 15y ago
:(. I will have to switch to UPS now.

Nope. I am pretty much 100% electronic.

by TruthElixirX 15y ago
Ugh. USPS. I cannot actually remember the last time I used their service.

I don't think the USA killed this dream over the past decade. I'm pretty sure things have always been like this for non-whites in the U.S., it is just that the internet allows one to dispel the propaganda.

The government robbed us, gave it to GS, and then GS pays the government back and the government blows up brown people. What a win for the U.S. tax payer!

I'm not really sure what to tell you. In my ideal world the Whiskey Rebellion succeeded. George Washington was hung for treason. The Articles of Confederation were not replaced through the Constitutional Coup. Slavery becomes out competed b

It has been opposed to individual freedom since it put down the Whiskey Rebellion. If people cared about personal freedom George Washington would have been hung for treason.

Austrians don't advocate for a deflationary currency, they advocate for competing currencies. Rothbard, one of the "pillars" of Austrian Economics, even stated that The Great Depression was due to deflation not inflation. Lots of people tha

I have no idea where I read Russian. My bad. :\

by TruthElixirX 15y ago
Maybe Russian search engines fall for keyword stuffing? I do not know what the primary search engine of Russia is.

How did XO/OLPC fail? I'm curious, I quit following the project. I thought it just never really got off the ground. Was that the only failure or something different?

You fix the problem by realizing editors where in place for a reason. People like crap and without editors to filter bullshit we get a continuing stream of fecal matter. In theory moderators on Reddit should be some sort of quality control,

I've been on reddit since 2007 under various names. I think the quality has declined quite a bit if you view /r/all, the front page everyone sees by default. Its really bad. Individual subreddits are pretty good still though. /r/netsec, sys

This isn't social in the same sense as their past failures were though. Orkrut, Buzz, etc all relied on your friends also using those services. Crowd sourced coupons don't have this holding them up.

The most frustrating thing about instant search, to me, is that even in Firefox 4 and Opera (Haven't tried it on Chrome) the instant part freezes up sometimes if I type really quickly or backspace too fast.
