Do you really think that multiplying large numbers in your head is knowing math well? Seriously. Knowing math well, i.e., knowing stuff like Differential Geometry or Algebraic Topology, is anything but a form of marketing...

Unlike Wolfram, Gödel did groundbreaking work. Gödel was revolutionary. Wolfram is quite smart, but other than Mathematica , I don't really think he has achieved much at all. Any comparison between the two men is ridiculous. They are in en

I like your back-of-the-envelope calculations... The problem with such seemingly unorthodox proposals is that they can be either brilliant or totally retarded. The devil is in the details. Unfortunately, neither the media nor the masses car

How much energy would be spent on the production of white paint? How much energy would be saved by painting the roofs white? Unless a detailed quantitative analysis is provided, this is pretty much nonsensical...

You should write a book. Seriously. I love that rare blend of guilt, frustration and bitterness. Hackers and painters. Nerds and artists. Neither one nor the other is destined to spawn. They may be lucky enough to leave their tiny mark on t

Many people value their own worth based on how much loot they have amassed. If you lose it all, then you're worth nothing. BTW, the german guy was an old tosser just waiting to see what kind of cancer would kill him. Not much of a loss to m
