I wonder if a "parent lock" type of measure but for external installs could work, basically allowing a user to disable the external installations (and other things) unless you enter a custom code. For those of us who know enough t

If you want to test the isUserAGoat and isUserAMonkey on you own device, I published this small app that does just that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trianguloy... Maybe I can add these other

I work on the University, and there I recovered wired internet rather quickly probably due to backup generators. At home most routers stopped, some even took until the next day to be functional again. As for mobile connectivity, the main is

On my city there are a couple tram stops that were moved a decade or so ago. Google maps still show them at the old locations. All the comments say this, all the photos show this, even street view show it! But any time I send a change reque

As someone with relatively bad memory, in general less variables = easier to understand. The more I need to remember, the more time I'll spent. IDEs help by providing inline hints and documentation, but the main issue is that a variabl

Exactly, here you are basically keeping it as a while with a condition but allowing it to be any code that at the end returns a boolean, although you need to make sure that variables defined in that block can be used in the do part. Sidenot

Think of a producer (a method that returns data each time you request one, like reading a file line by line or extracting the top of a queue for example) that you need to parse and process until you find a special element that means "s

The scope should be unique, yes. In your example value should be visible. Your are right about the word double braces, but I can't think of an alternate syntax other than just removing the braces around the while. But in that case it m

I'll throw another idea here I've been thinking from a time now. Most languages have a while construct and a do-while. while(condition){block}; do{block}while(condition); The while is run as ... start: conditi

I've had a similar situation with Kotlin. I've always been a java developer, and I enjoy using it, but even with the newer features it's just...slow. When I had to script things I chose JavaScript (native JavaScript) since it

I've always wondered what would happen if we defined /0 as a new symbol, for example 'z'. The same as we define sqrt(-1) as 'i'. So if you can do 4*sqrt(-1)=4i, you could also do 4/0 = 4z. These two seems

"Don't do X" is bad. "Don't do X because it's not a best practice" is less bad, but still bad. "Don't do X because Y" is good. Only in the last one you can either understand the reason, or i

For me, the best way to solve this, is to make it really easy to change between one and the other, at least at the beginning when that's the only state and there is not much code yet. Start with the easy, and change it when you need it

Qrs may have other data, not only links, and there is always the extra (but minimal) risk of a vulnerability in the qr reader itself. Other than that, it's the same as clicking a link on an email, yes.

I've seen that on pages with text editors that don't load all the text or where search is expanded with more features, like for example on Github. In these cases I usually click outside the editor and then control+f works as usual

I don't think so, if it does it will now too. In fact with my suggestion the regex checks will not run if the user is not valid (as it is now it will always run) const isUserValid = ... if(!isUserValid) ... const isPass

My only nitpick is that the const isPasswordValid = ... should be just before its use (between the first two ifs). Other than that, I prefer this approach (although I would inline the booleans in the ifs to avoid the one-use variables. But
