Certain groups pay significantly more then that. My university, for example, maintains an island for a particular unit (which I'm currently taking, spending quite a lot of time in SL) and that costs them upwards of low 5 figures a year, and

From wikipedia: A design language or design vocabulary is an overarching scheme or style that guides the design of a complement of products. In microsofts case it's the "metro" style, with lots of bright (almost cartoony) colors, big blocks

App stores should make it easier to pay for the apps without having to register a credit card. Going for an enterprise feel won't help if people don't want to (or can't) register a credit card but can't pay any other way. Apple has done t

I completely agree. Facebook is providing a platform in a market that has always been extremely volatile, and are using their position to make questionable decisions. It will back-fire eventually. Personally, I can't honestly see facebook b

I disagree that passwords are a browser con, especially given the number of people who leave their phones lying around or let friends use them. If the app deals with anything sensitive (and email can certainly be one of those) it should r

Photoshop is fast, responsive and made for power users, illustrator and in-design more-so. In fact, all three are absolutely best in class with nothing even close to challenging them. The problem is more that they don't compete well when

Stylish[1] exists on both chrome and firefox, on all OS's with no other requirements and a gallery of nearly 50,000 styles with support for variables. I don't really see how something limited to a single OS/Browser combo is particularly use

I really don't understand why they say the stripes version "requires" javascript. Firstly, they're relying on javascript to do the striping effect, applying a class to even rows. If someone has javascript turned off this effect will degrade

I have several thousand dollars worth of second hand games (for xbox 360), I've never once come across a scratched disc. While I'm sure it could potentially be a problem in high-churn stores like gamestop, most places do have a replacement

A media API is being developed (in co-operation with the W3C) to allow exactly that. Further, apps will be able to request "trusted app" status to run with less cross domain restrictions.

The rollout of the top H1 is downright painful (locked up the browser with 100%+ CPU usage on a C2D MBP 13") in Firefox 12.0a1. Everything else works though. It's all good in Chrome 16.0.912.63 on the above machine though.
