Interesting. On a haswell i5 with an intel 5000 series GPU it works reasonably on Chrome without any noticeable CPU or memory impact, Firefox stable works pretty well with only slightly more load, Firefox 26.0a1 dies instantly and completel

That's the side-show distraction from the actual leak. Yeah, people are talking about him. That would be fantastic if he was in it for his own personal gain, but he tried to tell the people of the US that their government was over-step

Outing himself so publicly was one of the worst things Snowden could have done. Doing so before he was already in a country which had guaranteed him political asylum was just idiotic. A leak like that one really didn't need the figure-

That somewhat depends on the mutation rate. I have it set to 20% and the cars are optimizing down to big wheels connected by what can only be described as a bar, which means they can drive in any orientation and are clearing later and later

I was thinking much the same thing. "Yeah, lets review our browser use, and then switch to the browser made by one of the companies pointed to in this whole mess .

Could use a bit of a margin on the bottom of the menu. It tends to sit over the text, either partially or completely which probably isn't really the expected behavior for an edit menu.

Tumblr is, globally, in the top 50 websites by traffic, and in certain major cities it's in the top 20. Yeah, it's mostly full of cats, angst and porn, but the user base is both large and dedicated.

Oh, absolutely, but it's very strongly propaganda, across every state-owned media source (so, all of them) and in all educational material to the point it's accepted as the whole story surprisingly frequently (and not just about the US. Tib

It's always interesting reading reports on the US through a Chinese media perspective. Stories go round relatively regularly using very carefully selected snippets of news to paint a particularly negative portrait that isn't factually wrong

It doesn't matter. Any font deliberately set lighter then normal is hard to read on any device.

No, bugged me too. In fact, nothing on the entire page is actually #FF4A00. The big logo down the bottom is the more muted #ff6122, for example...

Considering that yahoo immediately killed the product, and that its 1mill total users read 90mill summaries in ~18 months (that's less then 1 a day) I'd say they aren't buying users.

The javascript one is incomplete. The example I spotted immediately is the extremely useful document.querySelectorAll()[1] which works very much like $('.someSelector') in jquery, but completely native and supported by pretty much everythin

Firefox really needed the release of chrome to kick it back into gear because it had stagnated to some extent, easy in its "we're better then IE and that's all that really matters" mediocrity, and swapping over to the rapid release schedule

Please don't use #444 for body copy. Anything lighter then about #222 (which typeplate has used throughout their own site) is just too low contrast on light backgrounds.

Doesn't work properly in firefox, either. Not optimizing for mobile is fine. Yeah, it'd be nice, but it is an "extra" thing. having content cutting off in a major desktop browser on a large (1920x1200) screen? No excuse. edit: Doesn't work

In Australia we have number portability and while we have contract subsidized phones they are legally required to be free and simple to unlock. For an iPhone, for example, you just run the reset in iTunes and the phone's unlocked.
