I'd be curious to see what would happen - on the face of it, more people could afford to live in the urban center, and costs would rise to meet demand.

Depending on the market, recruiters can at least be a useful signal for directing your search for companies that are hiring. Not in silicon valley, but I like to do my research and on at lest one occasion the obfuscated description about an

I am ROUTINELY prescribed medication that I am not supposed to take. I have a drug allergy, and one other simple condition that both preclude certain medications being prescribed to me. These conditions do not change over time, and have bee

You are jumping to a whole lot of conclusions there.

But you are supporting the company. There may be great justifications for using a particular product or service, but take responsibility for the choice.

High School students already use social media to connect with their peers, they just aren't using Facebook to do it. Source: I teach.

I think the game / toys were quite pricey, I wonder if products will continue to be playable or if they depend on some central servers for stuff?

Agreed. Facebook is pretty irrelevant with the High School crowd. Every has smart phones with apps that offer far less friction for communicating.

No idea how valid this is, but it might be because this data set is populated only by planets that one very particular piece of hardware can spot.

Those factors have nearly always been the case though, and do not explain the massive price inflations that have occurred in lock step with loan availability. The increases have also not been confined to top tier universities so the monopol

It's a whole different ballgame with a high performance car. Most modern supercars require a lot of care to drive safely.

Why? They are testing if the tattoo fades or not, there's really no chance of adverse effects. The worst thing that happens is a pig has a permanent tattoo.

Where has this broken down with higher education then? Costs are rising in lock step with the availability of loans. Monopolies are not the reason that prices rise according to what the market will bear.

It's also a skill that is not directly proportional to your value in a company. Effectively, this just moves the problem of compensating fairly somewhere else, without actually solving it.

I'd worry about what this does for employee behavior too. Seems like the dominant strategy becomes one of getting on the good side of the largest number of people, and the specific needs of your actual position in the company take a ba

TO me, they key problem you have to solve is: how do you avoid rent-seeking, and cost of living inflation? I'm not convinced UBI works in a free market.

The problem is, this doesn't happen in a vacuum: how do you prevent rent-seeking and COL inflation? Not universal basic income works in a free market, you may have to control prices directly in order to do it.

Switches also have another advantage: you can use them in limited visibility situations. Also, good luck hitting the right spot on a touch screen during ANY kind of high-G situation. Terrible idea.

If you look at the projected numbers for ULA's newer technology that isn't online yet, it still doesn't beat SpaceX's pricing. I think ULA will stick around, but it won't be because they win a price war.

Not to mention passengers. My wife commonly uses my phone in the car to help me navigate so I can keep my eyes on the road. A tool like this would actively punish responsible drivers like myself.
