I’m in Europe in a country where it works like this (not sure about the exact numbers). Last time I exercised my consumer rights was when the bottom glass fell off my Samsung smartwatch. I handed it over to the seller literally one day befo

I’m a Mac user of 10 years now and the total amount of times I’ve had to wipe and start fresh is exactly zero. So while you’re right about macOS taking some time to set up, it also doesn’t really matter [to me at least].

I had an e-scooter where a double click on the mode-select button would turn on the light and respond with a little beep. A single click would just switch the mode with no beep. To this day believe that the beep always came before the secon

I can think of exactly four non-IT people in my life who don't run Windows, all of them are family members and I personally talked them into Macs. In my social bubble, no one runs [desktop] Linux. No one knows Linux. No one cares about

I have a friend who works on the Czech grid (so a neighboring country), and Austria never came up in the conversation as an important factor, it's always Germany causing problems.

I draw the line where the original pixel values are still part of the input. As long as you’re manipulating something that the camera captured, it’s still photography, even if the math isn’t the same for all pixels, or is AI powered. But IM

Literally listened to it today in the car (I have a soft spot for Elán). Also, as someone who lives in Prague, I don’t really go anywhere near the clock. That’s tourist land. It doesn’t feel like home.

Same here, my M1 Air still looks and feels like a brand new computer. Like, I still think of it as "my new MacBook". It's my main machine for dev work and some hobby photography and I'm just so happy with it.

You decrease the angle of attack, i.e. you let the nose drop a bit. When the stall has fully developed into a spin, you perform the spin recovery procedure for your aircraft. Hopefully you still have some altitude left.

Actual landfills are, at least where I live, heavily regulated and use quite a lot of technology and engineering to minimize their impact. And landfilling itself is actually being abandoned here, AFAIK you can’t start a new landfill anymore

Helmet and eye protection is what you wear on a regular e-scooter or bike. You wear motorcycle gear if “keeping up with cars” is a meaningful concept for your vehicle.

Neither rain nor a bit of snow are a huge problem for commuting on an e-vehicle. In some countries even riding on regular bikes in the snow is perfectly normal. So it’s more of a people issue than a device issue.
