Oh look, here's this walled-garden programming language again. Absolutely irrelevant to Silicon Valley startups, yet it still pollutes HN's RSS feed. Flagged FWIW.

Why does this kind of article feel like it was written by an astroturfer? I'm not saying the author is an astroturfer, but his article certainly has that pay-per-comment feel to it.

Can anyone point to a full-fledged review of The Old Reader? I could only find first impressions by googling around for a bit.

You may be right, but I recognize some of Google's design language in this fork. Look at the buttons for example, they are flatter than those in the original work by Twitter.

Friends don't let friends use internet explorer. microsoft didn't like that and made internet explorer ads depicting us tech-savvy people as weirdos and nutjobs for recommending better browsers to our not-so-technical peers. This so-called

Why do all these posts by mvps feel ... clueless, mindless and fanboyish? I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's the ridiculous tone of defending the undefendable that all these posts have in common.

I also know who drew the linked comic: Simon Peyton Jones, the only person on planet Earth who still makes use of the Comic Sans font in 2013.

I looked inside, I saw the words "most valuable", I immediately flagged. This is a walled-garden developer screaming over the wall, demanding we pay more attention to him and his favorite technologies.

Linux would have kept netbooks relevant by keeping them usable. It turned out netbooks are powerful enough to run a browser, an IM app and a few widgets, but as soon as you throw AV software on top of that, they screech to a halt.

I went straight into book editing mode, since I plan on publishing an ebook in the following months. The experience has been slightly frustrating. For instance, Shift+Enter when editing the contents of the title doesn't work as advertised.
