Lunar phases are a natural phenomenon, traditionally you observe four phases. The more detailed model knows eight phases.

The problem with RSS [in the context of the OP] is that you can't see other subscribers. This is what adds a lot to the social feel of SM, everyone can see who follows who. This social feel is part of the reason why non-tech folks use
